Appearance of Auditor General Michael Ferguson at the Public Accounts Committee hearing on F-35's Postponed
Ottawa, May 07, 2012 -
OTTAWA – The appearance of Auditor General Michael Ferguson before the Standing Committee on Public Accounts scheduled for Tuesday May 8, 2012 has been postponed for medical reasons.
“I was informed this morning that Mr. Ferguson underwent an unexpected medical procedure this past Saturday. He is currently resting at home and therefore will be unavailable to attend our committee tomorrow” said committee chair David Christopherson (Hamilton Centre). “On behalf of all committee members and staff I would like to wish Mr. Ferguson a quick recovery and we look forward to seeing him again before our committee in the very near future.”
On May 1, 2012, the Public Accounts committee passed a motion to invite Mr. Ferguson to appear before the committee on May 8, 2012 to further discuss Chapter 2, Replacing Canada's Fighter Jets, of the Spring 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada. The meeting is expected to be rescheduled at Mr. Ferguson’s earliest availability.
