    Good afternoon everyone. I think we have quorum.
    As you are aware, we need to elect a chair. I'm ready to take a motion.

Mr. David Christopherson (Hamilton Centre, NDP):
    I move that Dean Allison be nominated as chair.
[Expand]
The Clerk:
    Mr. Christopherson moves that Mr. Dean Allison be elected chair of the liaison committee.
     Are there any other motions?
    I understand we only have one motion.
    Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
    The Clerk: Mr. Allison is elected chair of this committee.

    The Clerk: Before Mr. Allison takes the chair,

we have to elect a vice-chair.
    Are there any motions to elect a vice-chair?
    Mr. Preston.

    I'll nominate Mr. Christopherson.

    Mr. Preston moves that Mr. Christopherson be elected vice-chair of the liaison committee.

     I see none.

     I invite Mr. Allison to take the chair.

    What we are going to deal with now is the election of the subcommittee on committee budgets. We need to have some people come forward.

    Mr. Tweed.
    Mr. Miller.

    I'll nominate Mr. Miller.

    I'll nominate David Christopherson.

    The chair and the vice-chair are automatic members. Mr. Christopherson and I will already be on the committee.

    We have enough members now.
    I'll just read out the list of who we have. We have Chris Warkentin, Larry Miller, Joe Preston, Merv Tweed, and Pat Martin.
    Can we close nominations?
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
    The Chair: All right.

    Some hon. members: Agreed.
    The Chair: Thank you very much.
    We're now going to move in camera. This is not going to be a very long meeting. We want to talk a bit about the budgets.
