The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Ed Komarnicki, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Brad Butt, Jean Crowder, Rodger Cuzner, Carol Hughes, Ed Komarnicki, Kellie Leitch, Colin Mayes, Phil McColeman, Claude Patry, Manon Perreault and Devinder Shory.

Acting Members present: John Williamson for Joe Daniel.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sandra Gruescu, Analyst ; André Léonard, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on November 17, 2011, the Committee commenced its study of Skills Development in Remote Rural Communities in an Era of Fiscal Restraint.

Louis Beauséjour, Janet DiFrancesco and Allan Clarke made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
