The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Joy Smith, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Colin Carrie, Libby Davies, Dany Morin, Anne Minh-Thu Quach, Djaouida Sellah, Joy Smith, Mark Strahl and John Williamson.

 

Acting Members present: Rod Bruinooge for Patrick Brown, Kirsty Duncan for Hon. Hedy Fry and Brian Storseth for Parm Gill.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sonya Norris, Analyst; Raphaelle Deraspe, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study of Bill C-314, An Act respecting the awareness of screening among women with dense breast tissue, at its first meeting in 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hold the remaining three (3) meetings on its study of health promotion and disease prevention on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, Monday, February 6, 2012 and Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That the summary of evidence prepared by the Analysts regarding its studies of chronic disease related to aging and health promotion and disease prevention be considered by the Committee on Monday, February 13, 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hold two (2) meetings on its study of neurological diseases on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 and Monday, February 27, 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee proceed to the consideration of a draft report on its studies of chronic disease related to aging and health promotion and disease prevention on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

 

At 4:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
