The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 3:29 p.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Mark Warawa, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, François Choquette, Kirsty Duncan, Megan Anissa Leslie, James Lunney, François Pilon, Anne Minh-Thu Quach, Michelle Rempel, Robert Sopuck, Lawrence Toet, Mark Warawa and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Laurin Liu for François Pilon and Bernard Trottier for Stella Ambler.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst; Tim Williams, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Assembly of First Nations: Shawn A-in-chut Atleo, National Chief; William David, Senior Policy Analyst, Environmental Stewardship. Canadian Nursery Landscape Association: Julia Ricottone, Regional Certification Coordinator. Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami: Mary Simon, President; Udloriak Hanson, Executive Director. Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters: Greg Farrant, Manager, Government Affairs and Policy.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, the Committee resumed its study to provide recommendations regarding the development of a national conservation plan.
 

Shawn A-in-chut Atleo, Julia Ricottone, Mary Simon and Greg Farrant made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 5:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:08 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
