[Recorded by Electronic Apparatus]

[English]

I see quorum. We can now proceed to the election of the chair of the Subcommittee on Neurological Disease. I am ready to receive motions to that effect.
    Mr. Brown.
I move that Joy Smith be elected chair.
It is moved by Mr. Brown that Mrs. Smith be elected chair of the subcommittee on neurological disease.
    Are there any further nominations?
Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
I declare the motion carried and Mrs. Smith duly elected chair of the subcommittee.
Mrs. Smith, please come and take the chair.
Thank you so much, I think.
I'm really happy that we have this subcommittee. We've tried to get it onboard for a long time now, so that's good. But I would like a vice-chair elected as well, just one vice-chair.
It should be a person from an opposition party.
    I nominate Kirsty Duncan.
    Dr. Duncan.
All in favour, please so indicate.
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
    The Chair: Welcome, Vice-Chair.
    Please give her a hand.
We will now move in camera and deal with motions.
    [Proceedings continue in camera]
