The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Raynald Blais, Hon. Gerry Byrne, Blaine Calkins, Randy Kamp, Yvon Lévesque, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Tilly O'Neill-Gordon, Peter Stoffer and Rodney Weston.

Acting Members present: Rob Clarke for John Weston and Gerard Kennedy for Scott Andrews.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: François Côté, Analyst ; David Surprenant, Analyst.

Witnesses: Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Michaela Huard, Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure and Information Management; Micheline Leduc, Director General, Small Craft Harbour.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 12, 2009, the Committee commenced its study of the operation and maintenance of small craft harbours.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:34 p.m., the Committee proceeded to sit in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

At 4:54 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:54 p.m., the Committee proceeded to sit in public.

It was agreed, — That the Report be amended, by replacing all the words after “8 December:” with the following: “Discussion of a work plan and Terms of Reference of a study on the Pacific Salmon in British Columbia”.
