The Subcommittee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 3:48 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Jean Crowder, Derek Lee, Pauline Picard, Joe Preston and Scott Reid.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Principal; Michel Bédard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: House of Commons: Audrey O'Brien, Clerk of the House of Commons.

 

Other Participants present: House of Commons: Marc Bosc, Deputy Clerk.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 91.1(1), the Subcommittee considered the items placed in the order of precedence to determine whether they were non-votable according to the criteria adopted by the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

It was agreed, -- That the Subcommittee present a report listing those items which is has determined should not be designated non-votable and recommending that they be considered by the House.

 
Pursuant to the order of reference of November 9, 2006, the Subcommittee proceeded to consideration of the Standing Orders, procedure and practice relating to Private Members' Business.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, -- That the Chair present a report to the main Committee concerning the disposition of Bill C-295, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (replacement workers).

 

At 5:01 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
