Meeting No. 6

Tuesday, June 3, 2003

The Subcommittee on Marine Transportation of the Standing Committee on Transport met at 4:29 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Roger Gallaway, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Andy Burton, John Cannis, Joe Comuzzi, Roger Gallaway and Roger Gaudet.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Principal Analyst.

Witnesses: From the Chamber of Maritime Commerce: Raymond W. Johnston, President; Jim Campbell, Vice-President. From the St. Lawrence Economic Development Council: Marc Gagnon, Executive Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), study of the St. Lawrence Seaway System and the Great Lakes.

Raymond W. Johnston and Marc Gagnon made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 5:44 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
