Meeting No. 16

 

THURSDAY, JUNE 11, 1998

The Sub-Committee on Private Members’ Business, of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, met at 9:42 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Acting Chair, Yvon Charbonneau (presiding).

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Yvon Charbonneau, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, André Harvey, Ken Epp and Carolyn Parrish.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jamie Robertson, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Guy St-Julien, Jake Hoeppner, Bryon Wilfert, Lorne Nystrom, Réal Ménard and Tom Wappel.

At 9:47 o’clock a.m., Carolyn Parrish took the Chair.

Pursuant to the order of reference, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Thursday, June 4, 1998.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:52 o’clock a.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
