MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 2

Wednesday, May 5, 1999

The Sub-Committee on International Financial Reporting Guidelines and Standards for the Public Sector of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Serge Cardin, Mac Harb, Lynn Myers, Beth Phinney, John Williams.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis; Brian O'Neal, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the International Federation of Accountants: Eric Peters, Provincial Auditor, Province of Ontario; David Rattray, Assistant Auditor General of Canada; Ronald Salole, Assistant Director, Accounting Standards, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study to promote the acceptance of International Financial Reporting Guidelines and Standards for the public sector.

Eric Peters, David Rattray and Ronald Salole made opening statements and answered questions.

At 5:13 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
