Meeting No. 91

Thursday, October 22, 1998

The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in camera at 9:15 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Eleni Bakopanos, Michel Bellehumeur, Chuck Cadman, Shaughnessy Cohen, Ivan Grose, Derek Lee, Peter MacKay, John Maloney, John McKay and Jacques Saada.

Acting Member present: Randy White for John Reynolds.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Marilyn Pilon, Researcher; Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), a study of the Victims' Role in the Criminal Justice System

The Committee proceeded to consider a draft report.

It was agreed, --That the Committee workload draft report on the drafting of a bill to amend those sections of the Criminal Code that deal with impaired driving be adopted as the Committee's 13th Report.

It was agreed, -- That the Chair table the Report in the House of Commons at the first possible opportunity.

At 11:04 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
