Tuesday, APRIL 28, 1998
The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Shaughnessy Cohen, Paul DeVillers, Derek Lee, Peter G. MacKay, John Maloney, Peter Mancini, Jack Ramsay and Andrew Telegdi.
Acting Member present: Chuck Cadman for Garry Breitkreuz.
In attendance: : From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Department of Justice: John Sims, Assistant Deputy Attorney General, Citizenship and Immigration. As individual: Neal Sher, Advisor, Department of Justice.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced the review of a recent appointment to the War Crimes Section.
John Sims and Neal Sher made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
