The Standing Committee on Finance met at the Sheraton Grande Edmonton Hotel at 1:03 p.m., the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Maurizio Bevilacqua, Roy Cullen, Ken Epp, Lorne Nystrom.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Blayne Haggart, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Nunavut Association of Municipalities: Keith Peterson, Vice President; David General, Chief Executive Officer. From the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology: Dr. W.A. (Sam) Shaw, President; William Janzen, Vice-President, Finance and Administration. From the Cement Association of Canada - Western Region: Ken Pensack, Vice-President - Western Region; Keith Meagher, Manager, Contracts and Technical Support.
Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Committee continued its study on Pre-Budget Consultations.
Keith Peterson, Ken Pensack, Sam Shaw, David Janzen made opening statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 2:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
