Monday, November 15, 1999

The Standing Committee on Finance met at 1:23 p.m. this day, in the Imperial Ballroom, Lord Nelson Hotel, Halifax, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Maurizio Bevilacqua, Scott Brison, Roy Cullen, Roger Gallaway, Gary Pillitteri and Paul Szabo.

Acting Member present: Gary Lunn for Monte Solberg.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 83.1, the Committee resumed its Pre-Budget Consultations. (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, November 2, 1999, Meeting No. 2).

Elaine Price, Les Holloway, Ian Johnson, Jack Vanderlinde and Ed Fitzpatrick made statements, and with the other participants in roundtable I, answered questions.

At 2:40 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:57 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 4:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:38 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 5:57 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
