Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the committee resumed conside ration of the Report 1, ArriveCAN, referred to the committee on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Karen Hogan and Roch Huppé made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

Motion

Garnett Genuis moved, — That the committee report to the House that it calls on the government to prohibit any government employee from simultaneously working as an external contractor.

Debate arose thereon.

Motion

Brenda Shanahan moved, — That the committee do now adjourn.

The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:

YEAS: Valerie Bradford, Fayçal El-Khoury, Iqra Khalid, Brenda Shanahan, Anita Vandenbeld — 5;

NAYS: Kelly Block, Garnett Genuis, Stephanie Kusie, Heather McPherson, Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagné — 5.

Whereupon, the Chair voted in the negative.

Accordingly, the motion was negatived.

The committee resumed debate on the motion of Garnett Genuis.

The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:

YEAS: Kelly Block, Garnett Genuis, Stephanie Kusie, Heather McPherson, Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagné — 5;

NAYS: Valerie Bradford, Fayçal El-Khoury, Iqra Khalid, Brenda Shanahan, Anita Vandenbeld — 5.

Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.

Accordingly, the motion was agreed to.

ORDERED, — That the Chair report the following motion to the House: that the committee calls on the government to prohibit any government employee from simultaneously working as an external contractor.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
