Konrad Winrich von Finckenstein made a statement and, with Melanie Rushworth and Sandy Tremblay, answered questions.
At 12:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:08 p.m., the sitting resumed.
The Chair called Vote 1 under Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying.
Nancy Bélanger made a statement and answered questions.
René Villemure moved, — That the committee suspend the consideration of its draft report for the study of the use of social media platforms for data harvesting and unethical or illicit sharing of personal information with foreign entities and resume after the national security review of Tik Tok requested by the government is completed.
Debate arose thereon.
The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced:
YEAS: Michael Barrett, Larry Brock, Matthew Green, Damien C. Kurek, René Villemure — 5;
NAYS: Parm Bains, Darren Fisher, Anthony Housefather, Iqra Khalid, Viviane Lapointe — 5.
Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.
Accordingly, the motion was agreed to.
At 1:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
