Motion Text
That, in the opinion of the House, the government should create a Ministry for seniors to coordinate the provision of the following: (a) financial security through income support that keeps pace with the real cost of living; (b) access to safe, affordable housing that costs less than 30% of household income; (c) secure public health care by ensuring accessible, comprehensive, universal, portable, publicly administered medicare for primary care, homecare, palliative and geriatric care, preventive care and pharmacare; (d) opportunities for self-fulfillment through lifelong access to affordable education and training; and (e) timely access to all government services and programs.
