M-169 Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances

Motion Text
That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) recognize that firefighters' gear and fire suppression foam containing Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are hazardous chemicals; (b) recognize that these substances pose significant risks to the environment and can lead to cancer and other diseases in firefighters, the general public, and animals; and (c) pass legislation immediately aimed at completely phasing out personal protective equipment and fire suppression foam that contain any detectable levels of PFAS.
