ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Our Committee's enquiry into Government Contracting began in September, 1994, under the chairmanship of John Harvard, M.P., followed by Paul Zed, M.P., Albina Guarnieri, M.P. and finally the present Chair, Tony Valeri, M.P. We would like to thank the previous Chairs and past Members of our Committee for their work which established the foundation for the preparation of this report.

The dedication and professionalism of our researcher, Eric Adams, was indispensable in the preparation of this report. From the beginning of our enquiry, through two sessions of Parliament, Eric has been the committee's trusted adviser. On the eve of the tabling of our report in the House Eric has retired, after 25 years with the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament and 30 years of public service. On behalf of the hundreds of Parliamentarians who have so richly benefited from Eric's knowledge and devotion over the years, the present Members of the Standing Committee on Government Operations would like to express our sincere appreciation and very best wishes for a well deserved and happy retirement.
