CBSCs offer a front-line telephone information referral service, a database called Business Informational System and reference materials in print, on video and CD-ROM.

Perhaps the most useful CBCS feature is FaxBack. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the system allows a caller to access a great range of documents cataloguing government services. The claler punches in the request on the telphone keypad and the responding fax starts arriving immediately.

This material is free, always accessible and can be obtained through a toll-free voice number for those not in the principal municipalities. Several centres also offer a toll-free number for FaxBack requests as well.
