THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 1997(Meeting No. 46)
The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 3:46 o'clock p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Stan Dromisky, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Judy Bethel, Stan Dromisky, Maria Minna and Osvaldo Nunez.
Acting Members present: Geoff Regan for Dan McTeague and Bonnie Hickey for Tom Wappel.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Research Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to its study of Citizenship and Immigration Canada's foreign workers policy (see Minutes of Proceedings dated Tuesday, March 11, 1997, Issue No. 6, Meeting No. 38).
The Committee proceeded to consider a draft report.
At 4:57 o'clock p.m., the Committee adjourned until Tuesday, April 22, 1997.

The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 3:41 o'clock p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chairman, Stan Dromisky, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Judy Bethel, Stan Dromisky, Val Meredith, Maria Minna, Osvaldo Nunez and Tom Wappel.
Acting Member present: Harold Culbert for Colleen Beaumier.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Research Officer.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study of Citizenship and Immigration Canada's foreign workers policy (see Minutes of Proceedings dated Tuesday, March 11, 1997, Issue No. 6, Meeting No. 38).
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed on division, - That the draft report, as amended, be concurred in as the Fourth Report of the Committee.
It was agreed,-That the Committee authorize the printing of dissenting opinions of the Bloc Québécois and the Reform Party as an appendix to this report, immediately following the signature of the Chair.
It was agreed, - That the Committee print 550 copies of Issue No. 7 of the Committee's Minutes of Proceedings which contains the Fourth Report to the House.
It was agreed, - That pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government provide a comprehensive response to this Report.
It was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes to the report as may be necessary without changing the substance of the Report.
It was agreed, - That the Chairman table the Report as the Fourth Report to the House.
At 4:05 o'clock p.m., the Committee adjourned until 3:30 o'clock p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 1997.
