The Sub-Committee on HIV/AIDS of the Standing Committee on Health met in a televised session at 3:45 o'clock p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chairman, Bernard Patry, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Hedy Fry, Sharon Hayes, Ovid L. Jackson, Réal Ménard, Bernard Patry and Rose-Marie Ur.
Other Member present: Sue Barnes.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Odette Madore and Bill Murray, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee proceeded to a National Roundtable on Compassionate Access to Experimental Drugs.
Lise Pinault and James Shedden each made opening statements.

Beth Pieterson, Dr. Tomasz Uscinowciz and Dr. Bouchard, James Shedden, Dr. Bill Cameron, Dr. Mark Wainberg, Dr. Ken Logue, Dierdre Maclean, Dr. Michael Levy and Dr. Sophia Fourie each made opening statements and together with Lise Pinault and Dr. Doug MacFadden answered questions and participated in a roundtable discussion with members of the Sub-Committee.

All witnesses, including Dr. Michael Levy and William Milligan, then participated in a Roundtable discussion together with Members of the Sub-Committee.
It was agreed,--That the Clerk and the Research Staff undertake research and prepare a draft workplan for a Roundtable session on directions and needs in HIV research to be presented to the Sub-Committee for its consideration when the House reconvenes in 1996.
