The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 12:25 o'clock p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade, the Chair, Ron MacDonald, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: George Baker, Yvan Bernier, Herb Dhaliwal, Dick Harris, Ron MacDonald, Joe McGuire, Jean Payne, Bernard St-Laurent, Derek Wells.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon and Claude Emery, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Department of Fisheries and Oceans: William G. Doubleday, Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Sciences Directorate. From the Lower North Shore Fisherman's Association: Andrew Fequet, President. From the Fish, Food and Allied Workers Union: Lester Batstone, Fisher; David Decker, Business Agent.
