ORDERS OF REFERENCE

1st Session/35th Parliament

Extract from the Journals of the House of Commons of Wednesday, June 7, 1995:

By unanimous consent, Mr. Boudria (Glengarry--Prescott--Russell), seconded by Mr. Gagliano (Secretary of State (Parliamentary Affairs) and Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), moved,--That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be instructed to undertake a comprehensive review of the business of supply, with particular attention to the reform of the Estimates and the processes and mechanisms by which the House and its committees may consider and dispose of them; and

That the Committee make a report thereon no later than December 1, 1995.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs has the honour to present its

NINETY-FIFTH REPORT

In relation to its Order of Reference dated Wednesday, June 7, 1995 on the comprehensive review of the Business of Supply which stipulates that the Report should be tabled no later than Friday, December 1st, 1995, the Committee recommends that its present mandate be extended to March 29, 1996.

A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings (Issue No. 53 which includes this report) is tabled.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Milliken (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Malhi (Bramalea--Gore--Malton), moved,--That the 95th Report of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, presented earlier today, be concurred in.
