Petition to the Government of Canada
- Canada has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world;
- A growing number of issues are being reported by Canadian travellers at destination, including inaccuracy of tests (false positives), exorbitant price gouging, lateness of results, reports of people obtaining counterfeit tests, with some labs contracted by resorts providing falsified results to keep guests for extended stays at their own expense;
- There is an expanding list of countries who have removed all testing requirements for vaccinated travellers at their borders, including but not limited to the U.K., Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Germany, France and Denmark, and the latest scientific evidence suggests that now is the time for Canada to consider doing the same; and
- A recent poll of Canadian travel advisors showed that the inbound testing requirement is the single largest barrier to the full recovery of Canada’s international travel industry.
