- Access to healthcare is a right that all Canadians share, regardless of their social, racial, economic, or geographic differences;
- Hepatitis C is the single most burdensome infectious disease in Canada, affecting at least 250,000 Canadians;
- Hepatitis C now has a cure; and
- The Government of Canada has signed on to a World Health Organization Global Viral Hepatitis Strategy to end viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030.
