Petition to the House of Commons
- A large majority of domestic abuse and marital rapes go unspoken;
- These limitations are hindering the ability for a victim to feel safe, thus, having the basic right of “security of the person” is taken away which has been granted to us by Part 1 of the Constitution Act;
- Everyone should have the ability to be free as individuals in order to be released from their abusers and be independent people to the fullest extent as per the Constitution Act which shows us that individuals in abuse should have the right to be free independent people, who are no longer in any capacity tied, or forced to be tied to the affiliation of their abuser;
- The government's remediation on prioritizing the needs of the children fails to understand that the needs of the victims raising the children must come first for the best frame of holistic care from the guardian to be met; and
- Without this we resort to having a traumatized victim try to raise a child where trauma could be induced, thus, perpetuating the cycle.
