Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled
- Canada's Conflict of Interest Act does not provide any sanctions for breaches found by the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner other than an administrative penalty of $500;
- There appears to be no shame for having been found guilty of breaching the Conflict of Interest Act;
- Increasing the amount of the fine would be effectively irrelevant to most Members of the House of Commons of Canada; and
- Removal of the honorific "Honourable" from those Members of Parliament found guilty of violating the Conflict of Interest Act would serve as a greater deterrent;
