Petition to the Government of Canada
- Animals are vulnerable beings who deserve strong legal protections;
- Animal protection is a serious issue of moral concern, and Canadians care deeply about protecting animals from cruelty, including sexual abuse;
- Canada's anti-bestiality laws are so outdated that the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in 2016 that most sexual abuse of animals is not illegal under existing laws; and
- Parliament's failure to update Canadian laws in response to the Supreme Court ruling has left animals vulnerable to sickening sexual abuse.
