Petition to the Government of Canada
- "We know when we invest in women we strengthen our economy" as mentioned by the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau;
- Women and men are currently not paid equally;
- Canada does not currently have pay equity legislation;
- Pay equity has been promised over 40 years ago, again in 2016 and again in February 2018;
- Work of equal value should receive equal pay;
- When compensating employees, certain aspects of work typically done by women are not often recognized; and
- Most recent Canadian numbers showing "women on average earn 87 cents for every dollar made by a man" as reported by the Financial Post on February 22, 2018.
