Petition to the Government of Canada
- Various issues are affecting members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a recognized political party in Bangladesh;
- Many Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) members are facing inadmissibility to Canada under section 34(1)(f) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), which concerns security-based inadmissibility due to suspected involvement in terrorism, espionage, or subversion;
- This interpretation is unjust, as the BNP has consistently engaged in democratic processes and governed Bangladesh;
- Its members, including those seeking asylum in Canada, are law-abiding citizens committed to democratic values and not involved in subversive activities; and
- Many have been unfairly affected by broad associations with the BNP despite having no ties to security threats.
