Petition to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship

Whereas:
  • The goal of our immigration system is to support economic growth by bringing people to Canada;
  • Immigration accounts for almost 100% of Canada’s labour force growth and 75% of Canada’s population growth; and
  • Temporary Foreign Workers provide essential skills and fill important gaps in our labour market.
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to develop and publicly release a comprehensive plan to expand pathways to permanent residency for temporary foreign workers with significant Canadian work experience, including international students, in sectors with persistent labour shortages, within 120 days following the adoption of Motion M-44.
