Petition to the Government of Canada
- Old Age Security is a universal benefit for eligible individuals aged 65 and over;
- On March 8, 2021, the House of Commons passed a motion endorsing a $110 per month increase in Old Age Security starting at age 65;
- In the latest budget, for 2021–2022, the federal government is insisting on creating two classes of seniors, and as a result, it is ignoring over 3 million people aged 65 to 74;
- The pandemic increased costs of all kinds for all seniors; and
- Benefits needed to catch up even before the pandemic.
