That, in the opinion of the House, the government should join the majority of International Labour Organization (ILO) member states by ratifying all of the ILO’s core conventions, including: (a) Forced Labour Convention Number 29, which prohibits all forms of forced or compulsory labour; (b) Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention Number 98, which provides that workers shall enjoy adequate protection against acts of anti-union discrimination as well as the right to negotiate their terms and conditions of employment by means of collective agreements; and (c) Minimum Age Convention Number 138, which sets the general minimum age for employment or work at not less than the age of completion of compulsory schooling and, in any case, not less than 15 years or 13 years for light work.
