| M-505 — April 8, 2014 — Mrs. Ambler (Mississauga South) — That the House call on the government to take action to prevent forced marriages and any kind of non-consensual sponsorship in the immigration system by amending the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations so as to: (a) ban the use of proxy, telephone, and fax marriages as a means to spousal sponsorship; (b) disallow explicitly, in section 5, the use of proxy, telephone and fax marriages for the purpose of immigration; and (c) set out administrative measures that communicate clearly to visa officers how to detect a proxy, telephone or fax marriage. | M-505 — 8 avril 2014 — Mme Ambler (Mississauga-Sud) — Que la Chambre demande au gouvernement de prendre des mesures pour empêcher les mariages forcés et toute forme de parrainage non consensuel dans le cadre du système d’immigration en modifiant le Règlement sur l’immigration et la protection des réfugiés de manière : a) à interdire le recours aux mariages par procuration, par téléphone et par télécopieur pour pouvoir parrainer un conjoint; b) à refuser explicitement, à l’article 5, le recours aux mariages par procuration, par téléphone et par télécopieur à des fins d’immigration; c) à mettre en place des mesures administratives indiquant clairement aux agents des visas comment déceler un mariage par procuration, par téléphone ou par télécopieur. |
