The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 10:34 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, Odina Desrochers, Mac Harb, Marlene Jennings, Shawn Murphy, Joe Peschisolido, Alex Shepherd and John Williams.
Acting Members present: Anita Neville and Lynn Myers for Gerry Byrne; John McCallum for John Finlay; Charlie Penson for Philip Mayfield; Judy Wasylycia-Leis for Lorne Nystrom; Stockwell Day for Brian Pallister and Benoît Sauvageau for Gilles-A. Perron.
Associate Members present: Stockwell Day, Charlie Penson and Benoît Sauvageau.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal and Jean Dupuis, Researchers.
Witness: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: L. Denis Desautels, Auditor General of Canada.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee proceeded to consider the February 2001 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
The witness made a statement and answered questions.
At 12:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned until Thursday, March 1, 2001.
