The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, Northern Development and Natural Resources met in a televised session at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Raymond Bonin, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Gérard Binet, Raymond Bonin, John Finlay, John Godfrey, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Richard Marceau, Pat Martin, Maurice Vellacott.
Acting Member present: Deborah Grey for Gerald Keddy.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages; Mary Hurley and Carol Hilling, research officers.
Witness(es): From Public History Inc.: John Leslie, Research Consultant.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of an overview of the Indian Act (See Minutes of Proceedings of February 19, 2002).
At 11:04 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:07 a.m., the sitting resumed.
John Leslie made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 12:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:31 p.m. the Committee proceeded to sit in camera to consider the Committee’s future business.
At 12:41 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
