Sub-Committee on Organized Crime of

the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights

Pursuant to an instruction given by the House, the Committee established this Sub-Committee in April, 2000 and mandated it to conduct a review of the options available to effectively combat organized crime. Because of the nature of the subject-matter, the Sub-Committee decided at the outset to carry out its mandate in camera. After conducting site visits and hearings, the Sub-Committee tabled a Report in the House in October, 2000 containing its recommendations ( Report 9 of the Second Session).
