The Sub-Committee on Human Rights and International Development of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:40 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 307, West Block, Paul Bonwick, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Jean Augustine, Paul Bonwick, Maud Debien.
Acting Member present: Louise Hardy for Svend Robinson.
Other Member present: Bob Mills.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Patricia Bégin, Research Officer.
Witnesses: As individual: Marlene Dalley, Researcher on Missing and Exploited Children. From the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police: Julian Fantino, Chief of Police, London, Ontario. From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Michael Hutton, Director General of the Passport Office. From Citizenship and Immigration Canada: Brian Grant, Acting Director General, Enforcement Branch. From Revenue Canada: Mark Connolly, Director, Program Development Contraband and Intelligence Services, Customs and Trade Administration Branch.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee continued to examine the issue of International Child Abductions.
The witnesses each made a statement.
