The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:27 a.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Vice-Chair, Bryon Wilfert, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Bonnie Brown, Hec Clouthier, Paul Crête, Albina Guarnieri, The Hon. Andy Scott and Bryon Wilfert.

Acting Member(s) present: Jocelyne Girard-Bujold for Bernard Bigras and Pauline Picard for Christiane Gagnon.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sandra Harder, Kevin Kerr and Bill Young, Research Officers.

Witness(es): From the «La Coalition des 50 ans pour l'emploi»: Gaétane Bousquet, Coordinator; Rhéal Sawyer, Founding Member. From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Louis Lalonde, Principal, Responsible for the Audits at the Department of the Human Resources Development Canada; Sylvie Paré, Director; Yvon Roy, Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a study on " Older Workers"

Gaétane Bousquet and Rhéal Sawyer made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:12 p.m. the sitting suspended.

At 12:14 p.m. the sitting resumed in camera.

Louis Lalonde made a opening statement regarding a future audit on Human Resources Development Canada's quality of service at the local level.

At 12:46 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
