The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Albina Guarnieri, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Bonnie Brown, Brenda Chamberlain, Hec Clouthier, Denis Coderre, Jean Dubé, Albina Guarnieri, Dale Johnston, John O'Reilly, The Hon. Andy Scott and Bryon Wilfert.

Acting Member(s) present: Jocelyne Girard-Bujold for Bernard Bigras.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sandra Harder and Bill Young, Research Officers.

Witness(es): From the Metro Labour Education Centre: Trish Stovel, Executive Director; Beverly Brown, Co-ordinator, Labour Adjustment Program. From the One Voice the Canadian Seniors Network: Ivan Hale, National Secretary; Tony Palmer, Director Business Development.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a study on " Older Workers"

Trish Stovel and Beverly Brown made a statement and answered questions.

At 11:05 a.m. the sitting was suspended.

At 11:07 a.m. the sitting resumed.

Ivan Hale and Tony Palmer made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
