The Standing Committee on Health met at 11:10 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 269 West Block, the Chair, Beth Phinney, presiding.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Odette Madore and Nancy Miller-Chenier, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Health Canada: Dann Michols, Director General, Therapeutic Products Programme; Mary Carman, Director, Bureau of Pharmaceutical Assessment; Jean Lambert, Director, Quebec Region; Harry Conacher, A/Director, Bureau of Chemical Safety; Ron Burke, A/Director, Bureau of Food Regulatory, Interagency and Intergovernmental Affairs, Food Directorate.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of natural health products. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Thursday, November 20, 1997.)
Harry Conacher and Ron Burke made presentations and, with Dann Michols, Jean Lambert and Mary Carmen answered questions.
At 1:05 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
