BLOC QUÉBÉCOIS DISSENTING OPINION ON THE REPORT OF THE STANDING COMMITTEE ON FINANCE

The Bloc Québécois considers that tied sales are a practice that is unacceptable in the banking sector as in any other financial institution. However, the Bloc Québécois is also of the view that it is up to the provinces to exercise their jurisdiction with regard to consumer protection. Along the same lines, the Bloc Québécois would have liked to see the Finance Committee recognize and respect that jurisdiction.
