The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera at 10:20 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 237-C of the Centre Block , the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Colleen Beaumier, Raymonde Folco, Bill Graham, Ted McWhinney, Bob Mills, Julian Reed, Bob Speller, Daniel Turp.
Acting Members present: Monique Guay for Maud Debien.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz, Research Officer. From the Senate of Canada: Hon. Marcel Prud’homme.
DELEGATION:
From the PLO Executive Committee: Dr. Faisal Husseini, Member in charge of the Jerusalem File; Dr. Bakr Abdel Munem, Palestinian Delegate General; Ma'en Erakat, Desk Officer South and North America, Orient House; Sharif Husseini, Director General of the International Centre; Jawad Boulous, Legal Advisor to Orient House. As an individual: Shawky Fahel.In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to meet with members of a delegation from the PLO Executive Committee led by Dr. Faisal Husseini.
Dr. Husseini made an opening statement.
At 10:40 o’clock a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:07 o’clock a.m., the sitting resumed.
Dr. Husseini answered questions.
At 11:47 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
