Quorum

Introduction

In the time of Speaker Lamoureux, whenever in the course of a sitting a Member demanded that the presence of quorum be verified, the Speaker made a count of the House; if fewer than 20 Members, including the Speaker, were in the Chamber, the sitting was immediately adjourned. The original count was decisive in determining quorum.
