M-50 Renewable Canada

Motion Text
That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) create a new Crown corporation called Renewable Canada to accelerate job creation for the economic recovery as well as the necessary transition to renewable energy, by building new geothermal, solar, wind, and tidal power projects, prioritizing projects in Northeast British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland and Labrador where new transitional jobs are most needed and where the energy worker skill base already exists; and (b) fund this corporation from the savings gained from ending fossil fuel subsidies.
