M-209 Instruction to the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (Temporary Resident Visa process)

Motion Text
That the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration be instructed to undertake a study on the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) process, to consider among other things: (a) a comprehensive review of the TRV application process, including (i) the decision-making process, including the training for Canadian visa officers, (ii) processing times, (iii) document requirements, (iv) recourse mechanisms; (b) an analysis of other G7 countries' TRV processes; and (c) possible recommendations on how to make the TRV process more efficient, transparent and accountable to increase for Canada the economic and social benefits of visitors; and that the Committee report its findings to the House within one year of the adoption of this motion.
