Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the committee resumed its study of the compliance of a minister with the Conflict of Interest Act.

The Minister made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:51 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:55 p.m., the meeting resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

Michael Barrett moved, — That, further to today’s testimony of the Hon. Randy Boissonnault, the committee expand its study on the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages and call related witnesses.

Debate arose thereon.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Michael Barrett, Frank Caputo, Michael Cooper, Matthew Green — 4;

NAYS: Parm Bains, Darren Fisher, Anthony Housefather, Iqra Khalid, Brenda Shanahan, René Villemure — 6.
