Presenting Reports from Committees

Mr. Wrzesnewskyj (Etobicoke Centre), from the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, presented the First Report of the Committee (Supplementary Estimates (C), 2015-16 — Votes 1c and 5c under Citizenship and Immigration, and Vote 1c under Immigration and Refugee Board). — Sessional Paper No. 8510-421-19.

Mr. Albrecht (Kitchener—Conestoga), from the Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations, presented the First Report of the Committee (review of statutory instruments). — Sessional Paper No. 8510-421-20.

Motions

Pursuant to Standing Order 56.1(1), Mr. LeBlanc (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Duclos (Minister of Families, Children and Social Development), moved, — That the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development be the committee designated for the purposes of Section 343 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.

The question was put on the motion and, less than 25 Members having risen to object, pursuant to Standing Order 56.1(3), the motion was adopted.


Presenting Petitions

Pursuant to Standing Order 36, petitions certified by the Clerk of Petitions were presented as follows:

Government Orders

The Order was read for the second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security of Bill C-7, An Act to amend the Public Service Labour Relations Act, the Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board Act and other Acts and to provide for certain other measures.

Notice of the Royal Recommendation was given on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, by the President of the Treasury Board as follows:

Recommendation

(Pursuant to Standing Order 79(2))

His Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act to amend the Public Service Labour Relations Act, the Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board Act and other Acts and to provide for certain other measures”.

Mr. Brison (President of the Treasury Board), seconded by Mr. Duclos (Minister of Families, Children and Social Development), moved, — That the Bill be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security.

Mr. Morneau (Minister of Finance), seconded by Mr. LeBlanc (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), moved, — That this House approve in general the budgetary policy of the government. (Ways and Means No. 2)
